Gone Gone Gone Son, where you going on a cold, cold night? I’m going up to the north side, make things right Don’t stay up, Mama, turn out the lights When I’m gone, gone, gone, gone, gone Son, what you gonna do when you get there? I’m gonna find all the rich folk, grab ‘em by the hair Don’t you worry, Mama, don’t be scared When I’m gone, gone, gone, gone, gone I don’t need to say what those folks have done They own this town, got us all on the run You’ll know their judgment day’s begun When I’m gone, gone, gone, gone, gone Son, how you gonna do what you say? I’m gonna burn down buildings in my way I’m gonna fire this gun till they all can say That they’re gone, gone, gone, gone, gone Son, why you come right back so soon? I shot a man and a woman in the glare of the moon And I feel so sick I’m gonna meet my doom I’ll be gone, gone, gone, gone, gone, gone Lock all the doors, Mama, don’t make a sound They’re gonna kick ‘em all in and shoot us both down By tomorrow we say goodbye to this town We’ll be gone, gone, gone, gone, gone

Midnight Apparitions Daddy was the preacher down in our hometown When I was eleven the church burned down Daddy said it was a symbol of things to come Ever since then all he did was hide Shut all the windows and locked himself inside I used to ask him why he lived like his days were done He said, “Late at night, I deal with midnight apparitions Rustles in the bushes, dark superstitions I don’t really believe in freedom” Daddy was the preacher down in our hometown People said he was the finest around Now they say they always knew it was a matter of time Who burned the church down? Satan, God or man? Was Daddy saved now or was Daddy damned? Such are the questions running through my uncertain mind He said, “Late at night, I deal with midnight apparitions Voyeurs in the window, lingering suspicions I don’t really believe in freedom” Daddy was the preacher down in our hometown Now he’s buried at the old memorial ground Up on the hill where the setting sun is dark and red And late at night with all the windows shut tight I close my eyes and see the church burning bright And Daddy’s words start echoing through my head Late at night I deal with midnight apparitions Rustles in the bushes, dark superstitions I don’t really believe in freedom Late at night I deal with midnight apparitions Voyeurs in the window, lingering suspicions I don’t really believe in freedom

Leona Miles Away So I inch my way along, now My thoughts run aimlessly I’m knee-deep in the remnants Of Leona’s darkest dreams Maybe I’ve grown a little bit too accustomed to the night That’s why I’m trying to turn my face into the light, yeah And the pain’s been grating on us And all our silver moons are spent And while the summer sky ignores us The wild winds never relent We’ve been tumbling like dizzy leaves falling down We feel like we’re two of the darkest souls around But Leona she has nothing left to say She’s started drifting miles and miles away And the cold rain slowly blurred my window pane Leona, she has nothing left to say Upstairs in the attic, Where the moonlight creeps through fractures in the wall That’s where I’m gonna tell her everything, Where I’m gonna give to her my all I’ve never known a tale that’s better left untold I’ve never had so many secrets to withhold But Leona she has nothing left to say She’s started drifting miles and miles away And the cold rain slowly blurred my window pane Leona, she has nothing left to say
4.
Looking for That Girl I’ve lost all reason I’ve lost all peace of mind Step on the pedal, cab driver, Cause I’m running out of time Rain’s falling And the sky is black as led Soon it’s gonna come Crashing down on my head I’m looking for that girl Looking for that girl She could be in Paris At some midnight dancing place Losing her sense of time, Losing her sense of space She may be waiting at some rendezvous That’s slipped my mind Watching every new day Blindly sail on by I’m looking for that girl Looking for that girl I hear about destruction I hear rumors of war Every day’s crazier Than the day before I must admit I feel just the same Living like a hell hound Running down that same old flame I’m looking for that girl Looking for that girl
5.
Tang of Seaweed Stormy seas Emotions and complexity Wish I could go back in time And see things the way things should be I’m the one who watches over you I’m the one who built this house It’s all too independent, now May I ask you where I stand? I’ve been all across this land The years have brought me all I need Let’s head to the island, my loved ones For fresh air with the tang of seaweed Summertime is nigh Let us bid our last goodbyes Our little boat Is floating restless on the seaside It’s sealed and ready to sail, The one my father built so well The one we sailed in when I asked you for your hand I’ve been all across this land The years have brought me all I need Let’s head to the island, my loved ones For fresh air with the tang of seaweed If anyone looks for us We can leave a note and key Saying, “Please keep this house As beautiful as it has been” Sailing in the wind We’ll be beautiful again You’ll never be unhappy When you’re in my hands I’ve been all across this land The years have brought me all I need Let’s head to the island, my loved ones For fresh air with the tang of seaweed
6.
Now the Girl Turns Thirteen Now the girl turns thirteen The sun shines through the curtains All the color in her birthday dress Will fade away in time Now the girl turns fourteen She sneaks out till morning But all the roses from her favorite boy Will wither up and die Now the girl turns fifteen All her birthstone rings Will crack and break Now the girl turns sixteen All the party guests Will eat her angel cake Now the girl turns seventeen Hear the lazy morning wind All the faces in her pictures Soon will turn a ghostly gray Now the girl turns eighteen She’s so in love she’s crazy But all the memories of her wedding night Will someday slip away Now the girl turns nineteen All her love will turn to wanderlust Now the girl turns twenty Watch her outbound train Turn daylight into dust

Dancing Song 02:41
Dancing Song Shake my hand, friends I’ve finally learned to dance I took a crash course Loosened up my stubborn stance I’m no longer bashful Not self-conscious like before Hell, I’m not the only one who doesn’t know How he looks out on the floor Find a partner, join the ball There’s no use waiting for the sky to fall There’s no use sitting up against the wall When the music starts to play I can count the two step But I’m much too slow to swing Sometimes I hold on too tight Lose my step if I try to sing And I just can’t drink Cause I really gotta think about every move I make It’s a two part thing, it’s a give and take And impossible to fake Find a partner, join the ball There’s no use waiting for the sky to fall There’s no use sitting up against the wall When the music starts to play So if you don’t dance, Well my friend, you’d better start Cause I heard you just might lose The key to your lovers heart Cause when I told my dad what I learned to do He said, “Son, what a good, good call If I never did the same thing long ago You might have been born at all” Find a partner, join the ball There’s no use waiting for the sky to fall There’s no use sitting up against the wall When the music starts to play
9.
Bloom 04:42
Bloom When she was young She knew the woman inside That she might become But before she arrived The woman she was Started eating her up inside And she’d bloom Like all spring if she could She’d bloom Just like we thought she should Believe it or not She once walked the road to perfection Or so she thought But she stumbled and fell And ran her way back Never bidding her friends farewell And she’d bloom Like all spring if she could She’d bloom Just like we thought she should There was a day When three separate heroes Had come just to sing her praise But that was so long ago And each passing day testifies That those doors have closed And she’d bloom Like all spring if she could She’d bloom Just like we thought she should
10.
Bing Bong Bing Who can teach what faith and fascination really mean Who keeps the boys in town all wandering through daydreams Who’s the real reason why those crazy church bells ring I need you, pretty girl, but do you need a thing Bing bong bing, you’re the sweetest thing Bing bong bing, of you I sing Who lives in some enchanted secret hiding place Where she sleeps in splendor and wildflowers grow with grace Who’s the cause for courage and the thrill of the chase Is there room in your heart for a lovesick fool from space Bing bong bing, you’re the sweetest thing Bing bong bing, of you I sing Who’s got me imagining magic words I might have said Who’s got me changing plans so I can just fixate on her instead Should I smile or just move mysteriously ahead I’ve gotta tell you how I feel before I lose my head Bing bong bing, you’re the sweetest thing Bing bong bing, of you I sing Bing bong bing, you’re the sweetest thing Bing bong bing, of you I sing

Bing Bong Bing It was five full years from the day Simon St. Claire went away for a life of devotion and prayer When outside the cloister, down by the river Lady Catherine discovered him there Now he’d given charge of Catherine To good Spencer Hamilton, a loyal and trustworthy kind And he gave Catherine all he could But the sad lady never would keep her first love from haunting her mind Listen one, listen all A sad fate waits to befall Men who forget all they swear Hear the story of a monk Too wayward for heaven to spare So good men beware So late on that summer night She crept out in the moonlight and passed through the village unseen And by sunrise she found the place Where Simon turned to see her face glowing like an angelic dream And as she looked into his eyes Simon St. Claire realized he loved her so faithful and strong And he remembered his solemn vow But decided that to disavow such a strong love would surely be wrong Listen one, listen all A sad fate waits to befall Men who forget all they swear Hear the story of a monk Too wayward for heaven to spare So good men beware So in passion beyond compare They lay down in the maidenhair as tall oak trees held back the sun And as his heart pounded faster, Simon held her and had her in a way he should never have done And soon a voice broke through the trees, Saying, “Fear not, Catherine, I release you now from this evil affair” And she saw Spencer Hamilton Thrust his loyal dagger in the heart of her Simon St. Claire Listen one, listen all A sad fate waits to befall Men who forget all they swear Hear the story of a monk Too wayward for heaven to spare So good men beware
12.
Sheherezade 04:03
Sheherezade I’ve come from a land where the rats run wild I’ll travel yet another nine hundred miles I’m clearing up the madness in my mind Making room for a sadness of another kind Where the trains have passed, no more trains coming And the gray panorama dies into nothing I’ve been here before And if angels sail above my head I shouldn’t fear the open space ahead I can’t forget how my love was taken From the cold dark closet, snuffed, forsaken So old phantoms fill my need for people I’m stranded where the sky meets steeple I’ve been here before You may come without a warning But I will not meet you then I could never live that way again I’m too far from the beginning Of this trail that never ends I could never live that way again I dream of queen with a bold façade I dream of a night with Sheherezade Strange ghosts rise up in certain seasons That color my mind, influence my reason So If you wonder if I’ve come to a decision No, but I’m headed for a bad collison I’ve been here before You may come without a warning But I will not meet you then I could never live that way again I’m too far from the beginning Of this trail that never ends I could never live that way again

Yours All the Way Slipping through the cracks And getting what you want without a fight I used to think that this could happen If the stars lined up right Once everything felt so simple, so easy to bear Time passes silently and changes us, barely aware Life and love can both surprise you Right when it seems they both despise you Sometimes we both lose our grip When pleasure dives into pain But this time it’s turning into such an emotional strain Let’s write a new page, let’s fill a blank interleaf Let’s look somewhere for some kind of sign of relief Cause our love’s something too strong to sever And the blue sky stretches out forever And no matter what your doubts might say I love you and I’m yours all the way You’ve gotta put all your worrying thoughts away Cause I love you and I’m yours all the way Life and love can both surprise you Right when it seems they both despise you Cause our love’s something too strong to sever And the blue sky stretches out forever And no matter what your doubts might say I love you and I’m yours all the way You’ve gotta put all your worrying thoughts away Cause I love you and I’m yours all the way
